Donegal GAA club, Naomh Brid, presents “The Sandhouse Hotel Solo Challenge” in association with our title sponsor title sponsor the Sandhouse Hotel Rossnowlagh, Co. Donegal and Donegal Hospice. This event saw 100 people from the local community and further afield solo a football for the entire 120 kilometers from the diamond in Donegal Town to Saint Tiernach’s Pairc in Clones, Co. Monaghan. Logistically it was a huge operation which saw 100 runners solo the ball for approximately 1.2 kilometers each. It took us 20 hours, starting Saturday 20th July, non-stop and through the night, and ended with the final leg arriving at Saint Tiernach’s Pairc in Clones on 21st July to coincide with the Ulster Senior Gaelic Football Final. It is estimated that the ball went through more than 30,000 solos.
The event raised €12,310 for Donegal Hospice, and funds for the further development of Pairc Naomh Bríd.
NAOMH BRID GAA CLUB WISHES TO THANK YOU AND OUR SPONSORS FOR ALL THE SUPPORT
